Waynesville Middle Lockdown Lifted
A middle school went into lockdown this morning, after a student brought several rifle cartridges to school. That lockdown at Waynesville Middle School was lifted around 11:30 a.m.
School system administrators tell us the student had at least three bullets in his pocket. The lockdown was put in place as officers checked to make sure there was not a gun involved in the incident. No gun was found.
The Associate Superintendent says it does not appear there was any malicious intent. There's no word on any disciplinary action the student faces.
Tonight on News 13 at 5, we'll have the reaction from anxious parents who heard about the lockdown and rushed to the school to make sure their kids were okay.
