Donations Roll in After Theft
After a heartbreaking theft, an Asheville woman says her faith in humanity has now been restored.
As we earlier this month, Christmas presents intended for three foster kids were stolen from an office building on Merrimon Avenue.
Therapist Sheila McKeon says since the story aired on News 13, she's heard from people as far away as Oregon willing to help.
Thanks to that flood of generosity, McKeon says she collected enough gifts to help 12 kids.
Sheila McKeon, Asheville therapist, "it was amazing, the spirit of holidays that people were like I don't have much. First, I was discouraged when the toys were taken. And then...the opposite."
The foster families she reached out to desperately needed help. McKeon says the community outpouring is greatly appreciated.
