School Bus Assault

A Henderson County father wants changes after his daughter is beaten up on her school bus. He says her bus has been overcrowded and unsafe for months.

Several weeks ago, Brian Lane's daughter was injured in a fight on an Apple Valley Middle School bus. 13-year-old Holly Lane says her bus driver could not get to her to break up the fight because there were students sitting in the aisle.

There are conflicting stories about whether the Apple Valley bus is overcrowded. But administrators say kids are not sitting properly in empty seats.

Holly's father wants action.

"I've gone to the school five times this year  over issues on the bus over issues with kids bullying on the bus and getting smacked and hit," said Brian Lane.

Brian's daughters tells News 13 the bus driver has even gone to administrators asking that the route be split. But they say for weeks the requests have been ignored because administrators have said some of the students live too far out and they don't want to make another route.
