Arrest Made In Pisgah View Homicide

Investigators with the Asheville Police Department charged 17-year-old, Quwiivonte Perry Timmons, of Asheville, with voluntary manslaughter in the assault investigation that led to the death of Patrick Frances Saunders, 31, of Asheville.

Asheville Police say Saunders was hit in the head while he was standing at a bus stop by the community center in the Pisgah View complex. When officers showed up, they say Saunders was unconscious. Saunders was taken to Mission Hospital where he remained until he died three days later.

Authorities say their investigation led them to Timmons and he turned himself in Thursday night. Investigators say Timmons was charged with voluntary manslaughter because evidence shows he did not intend to kill Saunders.

Timmons is currently being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under $10,000 bond. Timmons is expected to make his first court appearance Friday morning.
