Henderson County authorities are warning residents to beware of a man that may be going door to door, offering to pave your driveway.
One Fletcher woman said a man approached her in her neighborhood Monday saying he had extra asphalt and offering to pave her driveway. She said 'no' and he did it anyways.
The 77-year-old woman says he then bullied her into signing a contract and writing a $10,000 check.
The family became suspicious and froze the check after recognizing the man in articles posted on line from news outlets in Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Now officials say the man that the woman identified as Frank Small is under investigation for obtaining property under false pretense.
Over the phone Friday, Small told News 13 that he did an honest job and the woman owes him money. He said he did paving for one other home in Henderson County.
