Natural Gas Smell In Mill Spring

Residents of the Mill Spring community of Polk County are smelling an odor of natural gas. The Polk County Emergency Management Director says there is no danger to the public. Residents are urged not to call 911 unless they can smell the odor inside their residence.

The following is a statement from Polk County Emergency Management Director Bobby Arledge:

"We would like the residents of that area to know that the gas company has been notified and they have advised local officials that there is a broken odor line near the pumping station on Silver Creek Road and it is not any danger to the public. Williams Pipeline officials advised that they would be unable to fix the leak until sometime tomorrow. Residents will be able to smell the odor until the problem is fixed. We urge residents not to call 911 unless they can smell the odor inside their residence."
