Asheville Named Top Movie Town
Asheville gets another shout-out at a great place to make movies. The city beat out places like Boulder, Colorado and Bozeman, Montana.
Moviemaker Magazine names the area as its top town for filmmakers and others employed in the movie business. The article touts local film festivals, tax credits, and pre and post production facilities in Asheville.
The mountains have a long list of feature films made here. From the Grace Kelly film, "The Swan" in the 1940's. To more recent projects like "Dirty Dancing," "Last of the Mohicans," "Nell" and the "Hunger Games."
