Fire Station Damaged
The cold snap hit a local fire department right where it hurts. Frozen pipes shutdown an entire fire house.
A pipe burst at Station 3 in Fletcher on January 7th. It caused so much damage, the inside of the station had to be gutted. A restoration company pumped out the water but not before it ruined the kitchen, dining room, and the appliances.
Station 3 is shut down while the fire department waits for the insurance money to rebuild. It will be almost a month before it's back up and running.
The Fletcher Fire Department says this hasn't slowed down their response time to calls. The fire fighters that would be working are at the main fire house just a few miles down the road.
