Tricky Travel Conditions
Steady snow fall and freezing temperatures made rush hour travel in Jackson County very tricky Tuesday night. Troopers say roads through out the county were icing up fast. Several accidents were reported on Highway 74 near Dillsboro.
Over in Haywood County, the wind and snow seemed to be more of a nuisance to residents. By 7 p.m., the temperature in Waynesville had dipped to 25 degrees. Accumulation on the roadways began to freeze up creating slick spots in many areas.
Wind is also an issue. Haywood Electric says they have line crews on standby as well as tree crews.
