Shelter Break-In

An Asheville homeless shelter has been burglarized and a person the staff were trying to help has been charged. The non-profit group Homeward Bound was targeted late Thursday night. Police say 42-year-old Christopher Macintosh broke in through a rear window. Prescription drugs were stolen, as well as social security checks the organization stores for the homeless people they help. Homeward Bound was closed Friday, but reopens Sunday.
