Zoo Closes For Annual Maintenence
One of the Upstate's most popular tourist attraction will be closed for two weeks.
The Greenville Zoo is closed for annual maintenance, upgrades and inventory. Crews are spreading mulch, painting, and repairing exhibits. They will also upgrade the seating in the amphitheater.
The zoo's director says they chose February because it's a time of low-traffic.
"It's one of our slowest months of the year, unfortunately it's a time when we get a lot of rain and cold weather, makes it hard to get things done. But really it's just because it's our slow time before we pick up with our school groups in the spring," said Jeff Bullock, director of the Greenville Zoo.
The zoo will be closed through Valentine's Day and reopens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 15th.
