Storm Impact On Valentine's Day Business
Those in the business of delivering love are scrambling to make this Valentine's Day a success. All the snow and ice is complicating sales. A lot of places depend on Valentine's Week. They fear this winter weather could break their hearts and banks.
Edible Arrangements in Asheville says their Valentine's Day sales are down 60 percent. The storm is also affecting orders that were made before the storm even hit. Slick roads are making it difficult to deliver their fruit bouquets. So it's on to Plan B. Owner Diana King and her employees are spending the night at the shop. They spent the day today shoveling snow and making extra arrangements in the hopes folks stop in to pick up a treat for their sweetie.
Blossoms at Biltmore Park has also experienced a few set backs thanks to mother nature. Due to airport closures some of their flower purchases have arrived late. But to make sure all their deliveries are made on time, Blossoms has brought in multiple 4-wheel-drive vehicles.
