Gas Explosion Report
A News 13 investigation has uncovered new details on the gas line explosion last month near Candler.
Photographs, documents and emails obtained by News 13 reveal a PSNC contractor gouged the underground pipeline. The blast was caused when the natural gas line under Sand Hill Road ruptured in January. The contractor hit the line while digging to install smaller distribution lines in the same area in 2003.
The utilities commission is still investigating to determine whether PSNC could face any fines or penalties.
