Teachers Get CPR Certified
Dozens of teachers and staff from two mountain school systems spend the day learning life-saving skills so they can better respond to a crisis.
About 60 employees from Buncombe County and Asheville city schools attended the special CPR and AED training at AB Tech's Enka campus. Organizers say the joint session is a cost-effective way to educate a large group of people at the same time. They say the training will mean that 85 percent of schools will have at least one person trained in CPR.
"When we send our kids to school, we feel like they should be protected there as best as possibly can, and these educators are stepping up to say this is another component that we wanna do to provide safety for your children," said Greg Core, AB Tech instructor.
AB Tech plans to do more of this mass CPR training in the future. They say the more citizens they can get certified the better off everyone in the community will be.
